Alaska Faces Record Snowfall Rates

Alaska Record Snowfall – 5 Feet In Less Than Week

by Storm Chaser Movies on January 18, 2012

Alaska is facing record snowfall with nearly 5 feet of snow in a week.  Roofs are collapsing and doors are caving in due to the weight.  This video showing Fairbanks, Alaska and Valdez Alaska done by Marc Lester of the Anchorage Daily News says it all…. extreme snowfall.  One woman’s door was shoved inward by snow collapsing off of a neighbors roof.  She needed the help of the US Coast Guard and the local police department to even get to her doorway from the inside of her own home.

Alaska normally has about 300 inches of snow per snow season, halfway through the snow season they are already at 322 inches of snow!
