The National Severe Storms Laboratory is seeking your help to identify precipitation at the ground level with the Precipitation Identification Near the Ground Project (PING). All you need is an Android powered phone or tablet or an iPhone or iPod Touch to participate. The PING Project helps the NSSL identify what types of precipitation are falling at ground level because the radar doesn’t do this. Volunteering for this project is very easy all you need to do is install a free application and report what type of precipitation you’re getting at ground level. It’s an easy way to help improve weather prediction and radar technology.
